The Freight and Multimodal Operations (FMO) Office enhances Florida's economy and communities. The office is committed to providing quality transportation networks that drive commerce, bringing freight into your everyday life.
The FMO Office is responsible for assisting in the development of Florida's rail system, both passenger and freight, and championing Florida's multimodal freight programs.
The office is responsible for developing and implementing the Florida Rail System Plan, rail safety, rail project development/management, rail research, and Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) implementation.
The FMO Office is also responsible for providing leadership, policy guidance, and technical assistance to ensure efficient and effective freight movement throughout the state.
Freight Mobility & Trade Plan: The FDOT Freight & Multimodal Operations Office is in the final stages of completing the Freight Mobility & Trade Plan (FMTP)! The FMTP is a comprehensive plan that identifies freight transportation facilities critical to the state's economic growth and guides multimodal freight investments in the state. The FMTP is now open for public comments until January 6th, 2020! Click here to review the plan.
