Local Programs

The FDOT Local Programs office provides transportation resources to local agencies for the construction, resurfacing, and rehabilitation of roadways and structures within their communities. With a variety of both state and federal funding grant opportunities available for infrastructure related projects, agencies have the opportunity to utilize the Department's Local Programs offices to assist with the process from identifying appropriate funding all the way through design and construction to project completion.
The Central Office Local Programs office is where policy, procedure and compliance with all state and federal requirements are created, updated and managed and the District Local Programs offices are where all project level management and delivery occur assisting local agencies with their projects from conception to completion.
All grants managed in the Local Programs offices are reimbursement style grants which means project costs must be paid by the local agency first and then reimbursement requests submitted to the Department for processing and payment of eligible costs back to the local agency. This type of delivery is commonly referred to as a Recipient and Subrecipient style grant agreement.
To learn more about the various grants available and the Recipient/Subrecipient reimbursement process, explore the information below or reach out to the District or Central Office Local Programs offices. Refer to our Staff Directory for District contact information.
