Context-Driven Network Design
Roadway design strongly influences how people use roadways and context based design prioritizes placing the right street in the right place. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) adopts Context-Driven Network Design to support the statewide goal of eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on Florida’s roadways (Target Zero), and to align with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe System Approach. This policy places context-based roadway design at the forefront of decision-making to ensure safety, reliability, and effective movement of people and goods.
