Welcome to ITSFM Version 4.7

The Intelligent Transportation Systems Facility Management (ITSFM) / NexusWorx Version 4.7 will be deployed the weekend of February 1st, 2021 and will be available to all users when they login Monday morning. This release includes new and improved features that provide increased functionality for all users.

Launcher Upgrades

ITSFM now launches via a small, self-contained executable. To install it to their Windows PC, the user should navigate to the ITSFM Homepage as usual and click “Launch NexusWorx.” Doing so will install the new application to a public folder on the user’s computer and create a launch shortcut on the user’s desktop.

Due to changes in Oracle Java licensing, this new application contains the necessary Java runtime. Hence, the user’s computer no longer requires a separate Java install.

General Software Upgrades

  1. This release includes fixes to Spatial Queries, which improve searches against “Date” attribute types and the usage of “Like” operators.
  2. This release removes the Utility Distribution System Circuit report constraint. Previously, all Electric Sites needed to have at least one of their Electrical Admin Types (1-3) be Load Center ('LC'). This is no longer required.
  3. This release features changes to Connectivity Manager:
    1. The Path Name has been lengthened to 50 characters.
    2. The performance of non-splicing functions has been improved.
    3. The user can now set the sequence of Splice Type at same time they are creating splices (when connecting the right side-feature).
    4. This release includes a fix to Splice Type, when the sequence rows change source direction.
  4. This release includes improvements to sorting in the Path Name in the Fiber Trace dialog.
  5. The length of the "Device Name" field for ITS Devices has been increased to 50 characters, from 30.
  6. The release includes other miscellaneous fixes. For example, the Login Dialog will always remain on top of other windows.

Welcome To ITSFM Version 4.4

The Intelligent Transportation Systems Facility Management (ITSFM) / NexusWorx Version 4.4 will be deployed overnight this weekend and will be available to all users when they login Monday morning. This release includes new and improved features that provide increased functionality for all users.

General Software Upgrades

  1. The “View in Google Earth” and “Export to KML” functions were expanded to export all user-selected intelligent geofeature types including custom symbols to match those used in the ITSFM map view.
  2. “Comments” attribute field has been added to all feature types that did not previously have it; also, many of the Locate Results now include Comments.
  3. The electric circuit name field was expanded to 60 characters to support the use of street addresses with long street names in the Site Identification Name for electric sites and circuits.
  4. Two new geofeatures have been added into the system:
    • Road Side Unit (RSU) is a new ITS device that provides wireless communications to vehicle on board units to enable connected vehicle technologies.
    • Mile Marker has been added as an importable only symbol under the Support Structure features. This feature’s attributes include County, Mile Marker Number, Road Name, and Route.

Computer-to-Computer Interface

FDOT is developing a computer-to-computer interface for bi-directional data sharing with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) used by the Districts. These CMMSs include Maintenance Inventory Management System (MIMS) and Maintenance Operation Management System (MOMS).

To facilitate data synchronization between the ITSFM and CMMSs, new attribute fields for housing manufacturer, model, and serial number have been added to equipment locations including:

  • Communication Hub
  • Toll Shelter
  • Wireless Communication Shelter
  • ITS Cabinet
  • Signal Control Cabinet
  • Toll Equipment Cabinet

Welcome To ITSFM Version 4.3

ITSFM / NexusWorx Version 4.3 will be deployed overnight this weekend and will be available to all users when they login Monday morning. This release includes new and improved features that will provide increased functionality for all users.

General Software Upgrades
The Viewer roles has been changed to restrict these users from exporting data from the system via the “Feature Export” or “View in Google Earth” tools.

Computer-To-Computer Interface

Version 4.3 includes an improved Web Feature Service (WFS) and Web Map Service (WMS) interface enabling real-time viewing of features via Global Information Service (GIS) applications such as ArcGIS, QGIS or Google Earth. Performance improvements have been made in the areas of “View in Google Earth” and “Feature Export” to KML files.

FDOT’s Maintenance Inventory Management System (MIMS) requires a serial number attribution for all equipment asset housed at an equipment location such as an ITS or signal cabinet. A serial number attribute has been added to all equipment types in the ITSFM to support MIMS data requirements.

Feature Splice Report

The new “Feature Splice Report” is available on the right- popup menu when selecting a Splice Location symbol from the map view. This report presents connectivity for a selected fiber cable or fiber device at a Splice Location. This report sets the fiber cable or device as the pivot for the report and presents what strands or ports, both IN and OUT, are connected to it at the Splice Location. For additional information, see the Feature Splice Report under Strand and Splice Details in the online Help.

Improved Maintainer Tool

The “Attribute Editor” form was modified to relocate the delete button away from the Add and Details buttons to prevent accidental deletions when updating equipment site inventory.

Improved Editor Tool

The “Shape Export” tool can now export either ITSFM code values or the user-friendly attribute description, as well as export features based on the original GPS mapping coordinates or the map display coordinate which may have been moved to provide better visibility in the map view.

Welcome To ITSFM Version 4.2

ITSFM / NexusWorx Version 4.2 is now available to all users when they log into the system at the next session. This release includes updated security and enhanced features functionality that will provide additional productivity for all users.

General Software Upgrades
Version 4.2 addresses a minor defect that was introduced and reported in the Java 8 Update 141 release that caused a few of the NexusWorx code libraries to fail security signature check. The needed changes to prevent a NexusWorx launch error due to this Java defect have been applied.

The following four Audit Attributes will now appear in the Spatial Query Results for all features that are configured for Audit: Created by User, Created Date, Modified by User, Modified Date.

Improved Editor Tools
This release includes enhancements to the lengths of all three Attributes on all of the generic Import feature types (GPS Point 1-3, Shapeline 1-3, Duct_Point) have been increased to 50 characters. Also, all three attributes have been included in the default public theme Tooltips and Dynamic Labels. To view these features, remember the IMPORT FEATURES theme node must be enabled.

Welcome To ITSFM Version 4.1

ITSFM / NexusWorx Version 4.1 will be deployed overnight this weekend and will be available to all users when they login Monday morning. This release includes new and improved features that will provide increased functionality for all users.

General Software Upgrades
Version 4.1 includes attribute updates to replace “Year Installed” with “Installation Date” to allow the Web Feature Service (WFS) to synchronize installation dates with other computer databases.

Improved Editor Tools
This release includes enhancements to the “Break Conduit” tool used to break conduit segments into multiple sections. This is helpful when inserting new Access Points as part of an emergency cable repair. The “Break Conduit” tool has been renamed to “Break Conduit at all Access Points” and allows editor to:

  • Break Conduit at all Access Points along the conduit duct bank at every Access Point it passes within 1-meter of, as long as the resulting conduit is minimum 10 feet in length
  • Undo changes in the event data input errors

Two read-only Conduit Duct Bank attributes have been added to the bottom of the form: “A” Access Point ID and “Z” Access Point ID. There are new popup menu items on Conduit at the bottom including “Associate Conduit to Access Point” and “Unassociated Conduit to Access Point.” The new Break at Access Points automatically does the “A” to “Z” associations. Editors can also perform manual associations.
