SWZ Seminole Expressway (MP44.5-MP49.9)

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) is planning to deploy Smart Work Zone (SWZ) technologies for a resurfacing project along Seminole Expressway from Mile Post (MP) 44.5 to MP49.9 (four lane resurfacing in the Seminole County). The project highlights include the following features:

• The project will deploy Automated queue warning (AQW) technologies, Waze application sensors, portable traffic sensors, and SWZ portable/changeable message sign (PCMS) boards. 
• The lane closure will consist of a single lane closure along with the Motorist Awareness System.
• The system will provide real-time warnings of conditions ahead including STOPPED or SLOWED SPEEDS X MILES AHEAD.
• The navigational application sensors will delineate the work zone boundaries with WORK ZONE BEGIN/WORK ZONE END alerts to WAZE or GOOGLE in real-time.
