District Five Letting & Project Information
Current Letting and Project Information
STN Maintainer
The Statewide Telecommunications Network (STN) Maintainer course is designed to ensure each student learns the same data entry, reporting methods and ITSFM standards as every user across the state, thereby ensuring uniformity while maintaining regional autonomy with respect to desired ITSFM functionality.
Like the ITS Maintainer course, the classroom component of the STN Maintainer course is unlike many other training courses because it requires 100% attention and 100% participation. This translates to no cell phones or texting and no computer access during the course except for the tightly focused hands-on exercises. There will be no access to email during the classroom presentations. By conducting the training in this manner, students will each have the confidence and well-tested capability to utilize the ITSFM to full capacity immediately after the class has been completed. The instructors are committed to making the interactive training session valuable, educational and enjoyable.
Due to the strict requirements associated with ITSFM classroom training, it’s important that the training be scheduled so the STN Maintainers have coverage and there are no scheduling conflicts. If a participant must leave for a meeting or an important conference call, he or she will not be issued login credentials or a course completion certificate and will be required to retake the class at another time. Optimal class sizes should be around six total students. This typically necessitates multiple training classes so that while one group is in class, another group of Maintainers is available to provide field coverage.
When students have successfully completed the STN Maintainer course and the required evaluation form has been submitted, their ITSFM Sandbox accounts will be closed and they’ll be provided access to the production ITS Facility Management (ITSFM) system. This transition is symbolic and helps preclude the potential for users to mistakenly enter production information into the ITSFM Sandbox.
