9. Evaluation of Gainesville Pedestrian-Bicyclists Connected Vehicle Pilot

The University of Florida (UF) Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AlD) project aims to improve pedestrian access and safety at UF by developing a new smartphone application to aid pedestrians and bicycles. The research will facilitate dissemination of real-time traffic information to pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit and automobile vehicles (TAVS) to improve safety and operation using Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2l) and Vehicle-to-Pedestrian/Bicyclist (V2P) communications. It will also provide opportunities for automobile original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to introduce CV technologies and support UF's objective of having an arterial CV test bed for pedestrian and TAV safety applications. This research project is continuation of the previous evaluation project “Before and After Study of Gainesville Pedestrian-Bicyclists Connected Vehicle Pilot.”
