Project Description
The project involves the reconstruction of State Road (SR) 710/Warfield Boulevard from FPL Access Road (MP 9.771) to SW Fox Brown Road (MP 8.9) in Martin County, Florida. The overall project length is within the Village of Indiantown.
Within the project limits, SR 710/SW Warfield Boulevard is a two-lane (one lane in each direction), undivided roadway with a painted median and a posted speed limit of 60 mph. The corridor includes 12 ft travel lanes with flushed shoulders. SR 710/Warfield Boulevard is a strategic intermodal system (SIS) facility with a functional classification of urban rural principal arterial and context classification of C3C -Suburban Commercial.
The proposed improvements include widening of the existing roadway from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway with raised median. The proposed typical section includes two 12-ft lanes in each direction separated by a 22-ft median with flush shoulders on both sides of the roadway.
Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to provide capacity improvements to enhance mobility, safety, emergency access and truck movement within Martin County. The proposed SR 710 corridor capacity improvements project will include:
- Widening from a 2-lane undivided roadway to a 4-lane divided roadway with medians
- Provision of new corridor lighting within the project limits
- Drainage improvements to accommodate the additional impervious area
