Project Description
The project involves the reconstruction of State Road (SR) 710/Warfield Boulevard from west of SW Allapattah Road (MP 14.872) to west of SW Van Buren Avenue (MP 15.710) in Martin County, Florida. The overall project length is 0.838 miles within the Village of Indiantown.
Within the project limits, SR 710/SW Warfield Boulevard is a two-lane (one lane in each direction), divided roadway with a painted median and a posted speed limit of 35-40 mph. The corridor includes 12 ft travel lanes with flushed shoulders. SR 710/Warfield Boulevard is a strategic intermodal system (SIS) facility with a functional classification of urban rural principal arterial and context classification of C3C -Suburban Commercial.
The proposed improvements include widening of the existing roadway from a two-lane divided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway with raised median. The proposed typical section includes two 12-ft lanes in each direction separated by a 22-ft raised median with curb and gutter on both sides of the roadway. A 10-ft shared use path is provided on the north side of the roadway. In addition, the intersection at SW Allapattah Road as well as the new proposed Garcia Drive connection for the Terra Largo Development will be signalized to enhance safety.
