Project Description

SR 710 corridor from Martin/Okeechobee County Line to FPL Power Plant Access Road and from Warfield Boulevard to Okeechobee/Martin County Line extends for approximately 10.127 miles in Martin and Okeechobee Counties. SR 710 is identified as a strategic intermodal system (SIS) facility moving traffic northwest and southeast throughout Martin County. The objective of this project is to enhance mobility, safety, emergency access and truck movement in Martin County. The corridor serves as a major arterial particular for freight.

The SR 710 Corridor Capacity Improvements Project will consider:

  • Widen from a 2-lane undivided roadway to 4-lane divided roadway
  • Realign the intersection between Martin Highway and SE 126th Boulevard
  • Add traffic signal to various intersections between Martin Highway and SE 126th Boulevard
  • Improve intersections to accommodate heavy truck traffic
