FDOT to host Alternatives Public Workshop for SR-9/ I-95 Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study from Miami-Dade/Broward County Line to north of Griffin Road
Broward County – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting an Alternatives Public Workshop regarding the SR-9/I-95 PD&E Study from Miami-Dade/Broward County Line to north of Griffin Road in Broward County (Financial Project Identification Number: 439170-1-22-02). A PD&E Study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this study is to improve traffic operations at the existing interchanges, cross streets, and managed lanes, address existing and future traffic demand, and enhance safety along I-95 from Miami-Dade/Broward County Line to north of Griffin Road in Broward County, Florida. The I-95 mainline and interchange alternatives being considered will enhance the community by accommodating planned development growth, improve safety by incorporating innovative designs and facilitating pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, and improve freight access between major hubs and the regional highway network.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.

Community feedback is at the core of all we do. FDOT works with the public to balance their community vision with the community's transportation needs. This is routine on all our projects to ensure Florida's infrastructure is safe, resilient, and efficient for many years into the future. Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within at least 300 feet on either side of the proposed alignment and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals that have expressed interest in the project.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. Persons who require accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should make this request to the FDOT Project Manager at least seven (7) days prior to the workshop.
