FHWA Emergency Relief (ER)

Introduction

When a State of Emergency is issued by a Governor’s Proclamation or a Presidential Declaration the FHWA ER Program may be activated. Furthermore, this funding source is specific to when a natural disaster or catastrophic failure from an external cause requires a repair or reconstruction of a Federal-aid highway or road. Additional details about the program may be found in Chapter 13 of the Local Programs (LP) Manual (FDOT Procedure 525-010-300).
