Urban General Overview

Roadways in the Urban General (C4) Context Classification reside in mixed use areas but are primarily comprised of a residential neighborhoods with a variety of housing types. The buildings surrounding the roadway in this context are generally between one and three stories tall and built with offsets between 0' and 75' from the roadway.

Urban General roadways have an allowable design speed of 25 - 45 mph which enables the implementation of several speed management techniques per the FDOT Design Manual . These roadways have heavy traffic and are essential to a multiple modes of transportation.
