Safety Music Video Contest TIME:N/A The Florida Department of Transportation invites middle and high schoolers to create an original safety music video that helps teach elementary school children important safety information using a fun street-crossing safety jingle created by a local artist Mr. Richard Peeples. Contest winner will have the opportunity to work with a professional production team to turn their music video creation into an official Public Service Announcement (PSA) for Alert Today Florida slated to release statewide for Walk to School Day 2022. This is a pilot effort. Participation is limited to the first 20 schools that respond to the invitation. The participating schools will be provided with the music jingle and the contest rules.

The Blind Experience: Moving Without Limits TIME:10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Community leaders and supporters are invited to participate in this important opportunity to promote drivers’ awareness of the White Cane law and pedestrian safety. Cyclovia – Culinary Bicycle Tour TIME:6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Join us for a 5-mile bicycle ride sampling some of the best culinary dishes of St. Cloud! Registration is $10 per person for ages 13 and older, children 12 and under are free. Food, drinks, water and snacks will be provided. The ride begins at St. Cloud Lakefront Park. Free helmet fitting and helmets given out (first come, first served). Registration begins at 6:00 pm and ride starts at 6:30pm. Bike rentals are available for $5 per person.

WAF30 – Daytona Beach Walk TIME:12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.. Join us in Daytona Beach, FL for the 30th Anniversary of "Walk Around Florida" (WAF30) - a three-day weekend walking festival sponsored by the Happy Wanderers, Mid-Florida Milers (Orlando) and Suncoast Sandpipers (Tampa) of Central Florida, and AVA: America's Walking Club!
You may be pre-registered or register same day (Grenada Room - the Plaza) and start the walk anytime between 12pm and 3pm, with the event finishing by 6 p.m. A map and written directions will be available along with (limited) directional arrows along the route. Checkpoints on the routes provide bathrooms, water and snacks.
Our Friday afternoon offering will start/finish at the fabulous Plaza Resort and Spa - located on the beach (FL A1A), with both 6km (3.7 miles) and 11km (6.8 miles) distance routes heading out onto the "World's Most Famous Beach" and then through portions of downtown Daytona Beach, with the longer walk crossing Veterans Memorial Bridge to Jackie Robinson stadium and sites on the mainland side along Beach St.
The event is $3.00 for all participants 12 and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
