Logo Sign Program - Frequently Asked Questions

What services can be shown on the logo structure?
Gas, food, lodging, camping and attractions for businesses that meet the requirements of Section 479.261, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 14-85, Florida Administrative Code.

How much does it cost to participate in the Logo Sign Program?
The annual fee for participation in the Logo Program is based on the Average Annual Daily Traffic count and the Urban Area population for each individual exit.

Where are logo structures placed?
Logo structures are placed along the interstate, normally within one (1) mile in advance of an exit. Structures are placed in the order of attractions/camping, lodging, food and gas, as observed in the direction of travel. In addition, ramp logo structures are placed along the exit ramp, and indicate the direction and mileage to the business.

How can gas, food, lodging, camping and attraction businesses participate in the Logo Program?
Applications for participation on the Logo Sign Program may be submitted to Florida Logos, Inc. at any time. If your business meets the eligibility requirements your application will be approved. If no space is available at the requested interchange, your name will be placed on a wait list for future display.

Whom should we talk to about participation in the program or if we have questions about the program?
You may reach the Program Administrator at www.florida.interstatelogos.com, at (888) 608-0833, or in care of: General Manager, Florida Logos, Inc., 3764 New Tampa Highway, Lakeland, FL, 33815.

Where do I get an application or additional information?
Applications and other documents as well as additional information may be obtained from www.florida.interstatelogos.com

How large are the business logos that are placed on the logo structures?
The business logos along the interstate are 48" wide and 36" high. All business logos on the exit ramp are 24" wide and 18" high.

Who provides the logo panels?
The boards on which the individual logo panels are displayed are erected and maintained by Florida Logos, Inc. for the Department. Each business is responsible for supplying its business logos: four (4) total - one for each direction of travel along the interstate, and one to display on the interstate off ramp in each direction. All logos must comply with Department specifications.

What if my business is not located on, or visible to, the exit crossroad? Can I still participate in the Program?
If your business meets all of the requirements and there is space available, you may participate even if your business is not visible to motorists exiting the interstate. You are required to provide directional signage to your business, either through other means of advertising (e.g., billboards) or you may participate in the Department's Trailblazer program at your own expense. Trailblazer signs are placed at every corner where motorists have to turn to direct them from the interstate to your business.

How do I report a damaged sign?
If you notice a damaged sign, report it to the State Logo Administrator, Florida Department of Transportation, 605 Suwannee St, MS22, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0450.

Where can I get additional information on sign specifications?
All logo structures must comply with the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/htm/2003r1r2/part2/part2f.htm).
