Contract Compliance FAQs

Why does my company have to follow the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations on federally funded highway construction jobs?

The U.S. Department of Transportation requires contractors that work on federal aid jobs to comply with 23 Code of Federal Regulations and FHWA Form 1273. These are federal regulations that govern the EEO program for construction contracts.

What do I need to do in order to comply with EEO federal regulations?

The EEO Contract Compliance Manual has been developed to provide contractors with an overview of their EEO requirements.   A copy of this manual is available at Contract Compliance Manual.

I would like to attend training to understand the EEO requirements.  Does the Florida Department of Transportation have local offices that provide training?

The Florida Department of Transportation has 8 district offices and a District Contract Compliance Manager that works in each of the district.   A list of each contact can be found on the Compliance Contacts page
