Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council

Noteworthy Practices Working Group

A goal from the MPOAC’s 2016 Strategic Directions Plan was for “the MPOAC to support the sharing of best practices and help coordinate and communicate with members and other organizations,” including convening working groups. The Best Practices Working Group was formed in January 2017 and later renamed the Noteworthy Practices Working Group to better reflect its evolving mission.

The purpose of the Noteworthy Practices Working Group is to highlight the good work of the MPOs in Florida, allow members of the MPOAC to learn from each other, and elevate the state of the practice of metropolitan transportation planning across the state. The Noteworthy Practices Working Group will meet as necessary throughout the year in coordination with the MPOAC statewide meetings.

Noteworthy Practices Portal

MPOs are encouraged to submit noteworthy practices through the Noteworthy Practices Portal. Submissions will be reviewed by a small committee rather than being open to all. Selected practices will be shared in a webinar series, providing a platform for detailed discussion and Q&A sessions. The frequency of these webinars will depend on the volume of submissions received.
