Florida Transportation Plan

The Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) is the single overarching statewide plan guiding Florida's transportation future. Updated every five years, the FTP includes a  Vision Element containing trends, uncertainties, and themes that will shape the future of transportation in Florida (50 years), a  Policy Element with goals and objectives to guide transportation partners toward the vision (25 years), a Performance Element to report how our transportation system performs on key measures of safety, asset condition, and mobility, and finally, an Implementation Element (coming soon), that details specific short-term actions, roles, and timelines over the next five years. Florida's Strategic Intermodal System Policy Plan

The Strategic Intermodal System Policy Plan helps guide decisions about future SIS investments and how priorities are established given limited funding.  The Systems Implementation Office produces a document set known as the SIS Funding Strategy, which includes three inter-related sequential documents that identify potential SIS projects in various stages of development.  For more information, visit the SIS Plans and Projects page. 



Florida Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP)

The Florida Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) is the statewide plan focusing on how to accomplish the vision of eliminating fatalities and reducing serious injuries on all public roads. The SHSP is updated at least every five years by FDOT in coordination with statewide, regional, and local safety partners. Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Master Plan (EVMP)

The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Master Plan (EVMP) is a comprehensive document intended to convey the most important topics and actionable next steps toward deploying Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure in Florida.   For more information, visit the  Electric Vehicle Master Plan page.



Florida Aviation System Plan

The Florida Aviation System Plan is a long-term strategic planning process designed to comprehensively assess all public-use airports in Florida to understand the relationships between these facilities and their unique users. This integrated study is designed to assess the ability of the existing system to achieve current and anticipated future demands. The Florida Statewide Aviation Economic Impact Study is part of the FASP update and provides the economic impact associated with commercial, public-use, and military airports and aviation facilities. Florida Freight Mobility and Trade Plan

The Freight Mobility and Trade Plan is a comprehensive plan that identifies freight transportation facilities critical to the state's economic growth and guides multimodal freight investments in the state. For more information, visit the Freight and Mobility Trade Plan page.   



Florida Motor Carrier System Plan

The Florida Motor Carrier System Plan addresses mobility and competitive advantage concerns specifically from a trucking point of view. The Motor Carrier Issue Fact Sheets provides a comprehensive review of the issues motor carriers face, their impacts on the industry, numbers related the the issues and legislative background. Florida Rail System Plan 

The Florida Rail System Plan guides the state's rail freight and passenger transportation planning activities and project development plans.  For more information, visit the Rail System Plan page.



Florida Seaport System Plan and Florida Waterways System Plan

The Florida Seaport System Plan provides policy guidance, goals and objectives for the development, enhancement, and preservation of Florida's seaport system.
