Specification Package Preparation Training


This training provides valuable information and techniques to prepare specifications packages for Department Contracts.

There are two (2) components:

  1. A prerequisite video (instructions are provided on the landing page) which must be viewed at least one week before class. This prerequisite also includes a link to download the files and review them. You must familiarize yourself with the documents before attending this fast-paced class. 
  2. The instructor-led virtual class is in real-time, with hands-on training in our Specs on the Web application.   

 

Please note this training is mandatory for all Engineers of Record to sign and seal a specification package. (FDOT Procedure Specifications Package Preparation, Topic No. 630-010-005).

A confirmation email will be sent to the email provided two weeks before the training date.

All classes are online from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Upon completion of the Consultant Specification Package Preparation Training, consultant Engineer of Record must take the online Specifications Package Preparation Re-certification Computer-Basic Training (CBT) every 5 years to maintain eligibility to sign and seal Department Specifications Packages. Upon completion of the Re-certification CBT, the consultant Engineer of Record must send a copy of the Course Completion form to the State Specifications Office at CO-SPECDEV@dot.state.fl.us.
