County Measures Reporting

Overview

To support the Community Planning Initiative led by the Office of Policy Planning, FDOT Forecasting and Trends Office has prepared county profiles for all 67 Florida counties. Eleven mobility measures are reported for 46 counties within an MPO area and seven measures for non-MPO counties. The measures for a specific year are reported by available data at the time of reporting. It's expected that measures will be added, revised or removed depending on data availability and the changing demands.

MPO Counties

Similar to the MPO Profiles, six core measures are reported for each MPO county. Eight measures are rotated every other year with four measures reported in the odd year and four in the even year. The only difference is that commute time is added to the County Mobility Profiles.

Non-MPO Counties

Since non-MPO counties have different travel patterns and mobility needs, we evaluate the mobility of these counties from a different angle. The measures for these counties include average commute time; population density; centerline miles of city and county paved and unpaved roads; centerline miles of rural and urban roads; percentage of roadways by Context Classification; and rural counties’ accessibility to hospitals, airports, and urban centers.
