Programs

Florida Permanent Reference Network (FPRN)
Together with our Cooperative Agencies the FPRN network consist of nearly 100 Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) located throughout Florida. We work closely with the National Geodetic Survey's National CORS network. Each CORS site provides Global Positioning System (GPS) carrier phase and code range measurements in support of 3-dimensional positioning activities throughout Florida and surrounding states.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Unmanned Aircraft Systems are used for by the department for task. 

Services

The Surveying and Mapping Office provide the following services:
R/W Maps Search
Right of Way Maps are produced and maintained in each corresponding district R/W Mapping section. Maps are available in paper or digital form. Most R/W maps are not available online and may require you to contact your district Surveying & Mapping Office.
Historical Aerial Search
Our Aerial Photography Archive Collection (APAC) consist of over 700,000 negatives and over 450,000 new or scanned digital images. Available images can be searched and downloaded through the Department's Aerial Photo Look Up System (APLUS).
Emergency Management Support
Our office actively participates in the FDOT Emergency Management program. As part of FDOT EM team we work in association with State Emergency Response Team (SERT) during any emergency.
