"A dialogue to build partnerships and address transportation-related issues of concern to agencies and federally-recognized Indian Tribes"

Native American CoordinationNative American Coordination

In Florida, consultation currently takes place with the following six federally recognized Tribal governments:

All six Tribal governments have ancestral lands throughout the southeastern United States. Two Tribes currently reside and have tribal lands in the state: the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida and the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Although the Muscogee Creek Nation, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians do not currently have reservation lands in the state, they at one time lived in Florida and have a direct historical and cultural association with the state. They, therefore, are Tribes that are culturally affiliated with the State of Florida.
