The Freight and Modal Data Program is designed to support the data needs of Department programs, databases and resources
with identification, development, collection, analysis, distribution, and reporting of highway, freight, modal and motor
carrier data as related to Florida’s multimodal transportation infrastructure and economy. These services will be used to
support the routines, plans, reports, models and special studies of transportation systems and their utilization in order to
assist the Department analyzing and producing information that supports the transportation freight and modal planning process
ensuring the mobility of people and goods and economic prosperity.
- Multimodal Freight Data Inventory and Management - This inventory effort examined and collected these efforts in a report to coordinate future freight data development solutions and promote multimodal freight data intelligence for FDOT, consultants, and data users.
- Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threat (SWOT) Analysis of the Freight Analysis Framework (3.4) and Transearch 2011 – This report analyzed the Freight Analysis Framework 3.4 and the Transearch 2011 database for Florida’s use and provided a foundation of understanding Florida’s freight commodity flows.
- Freight Facility Dataset Project – This project analyzed the Department of Revenue’s Tax Parcel 2015 dataset for the Florida Department of Transportation analysis in to freight facilities in the state.
