Because of the heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic along this wooden swing bridge, which crossed the Hillsborough River in Tampa, the sign above advised people to walk their horses. Heavy development west of the river lead to the replacement of the bridge in 1913 by a new structure with concrete arches and a double-leaf rolling lift main span.
