• Traffic Analysis in PD&E Studies - PPT - 05/2019 - This course provides information regarding traffic analysis which is performed to support PD&E Studies for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The course covers scoping the level of analysis effort, analysis methods—including the process and tools used to analyze traffic, performance measures of effectiveness, data collection, alternatives evaluation and documentation of traffic analysis effort.

• Standard Scope of Services for a Combined PD&E with Design - 04/2019 - (Video | PPT |  Quick Guide)This recorded webinar presents the new Standard Scope of Services for projects that have concurrent PD&E and Design phases. The presentation discusses reasons for developing the new scope; example projects that may use this scope; the approach followed to develop the new scope; activities that have been combined to streamline pre-construction process and eliminate redundancy or rework; the structure of the scope document; changes made to the PD&E and Design tasks to reflect overlapping activities; changes made to the Staff Hour Estimation Guidelines and Forms; and other tools that support this new approach.

• Safety Analysis in PD&E - 4/2021 - (Module Videos and Handouts) - This recorded webinar provides safety fundamentals and develops a high-level understanding of safety analysis methods included in the HSM, and HSM methods to apply in different situations. Attendees also practice interpreting and integrating safety analysis results into PD&E process. Simple analysis examples are presented; however, this training is not intended to teach all the details of applying the HSM Predictive Method or crash modification factors.

• PD&E Introductory Course:  Contamination Workshop for PD&E Project Managers and Engineers - 4/2022 - (Video) - This webinar introduced the evaluation of contamination impacts as part of the PD&E process.   The training includes identification, evaluation, and handling of contamination issues in all phases of the project development process.  The course is consistent with the information covered in Part 2, Chapter 20 of the PD&E Manual, while providing additional background information and guidance.

• Project Traffic Analysis Report (PTAR) Webinar Recording - 5/2022 - (Video) - The purpose of this training is to review the purpose of a PTAR, PTAR elements, the process for documentation, and discussion of common issues found during OEM review.  Attendees are expected to have a working understanding of the PTAR documentation and PD&E process. The target audience for this webinar are Project Managers, PTAR Reviewers, and PTAR Producers. The webinar will include a basic overview of the PTAR development process and will focus on common issues in PTAR documentation.

• Highway Traffic Noise for Designers - 11/2021 - (Video) - This webinar recording provides an overall understanding of the basics of highway traffic noise and how to incorporate noise abatement measures into the overall roadway construction plans for the project. The course provided participants with a basic framework of the sources of traffic noise, how traffic noise impacts areas adjacent to the roadway, how traffic noise is addressed in the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) and Design phases (with an emphasis on the Design phase), and how to address the abatement of traffic noise during the Design and Construction phases of a project. It is expected that viewers will have a basic understanding of the process that is required during the design phase to ensure that noise abatement commitments made during the PD&E phase are successfully addressed through the completion of the construction project.
